Our heartfelt sorrow to the families of martyrs and to all peace loving people of Sri Lanka.

Every incident of this nature happens for a reason and it is clear to people with intellect know the cause and effect that will result.

The very people who are supposed to protect (Rulers and Bhikkus) are the ones destroying the ‘Buddha’ teachings. What a sad end to a long history of 2550 years. None were arrested and prosecuted in the past.

Absence of rule of law is a grave injustice to all law abiding tax payers. They pay taxes for security and safety. If the government fails, people should take private measures to protect their places of worship.

Islam and Muslims have the protection of Allah. Historically the enemies of Islam have embraced the straight path after long battles. The events unfolding have a significance only known to Him, the creator of the Universe.

Ye are the best community that hath been raised up for mankind. Ye enjoin right conduct and forbid indecency; and ye believe in Allah. And if the People of the Scripture had believed it had been better for them. Some of them are believers; but most of them are evil-livers. (The Noble Quran 3:110) They will not harm you save a trifling hurt, and if they fight against you they will turn and flee. And afterward they will not be helped. (The Noble Quran 3:111)

Ignorance is state of Bliss. Islam is not based of Tribal laws practised by self appointed dicks. All man-made system of governance is falling apart and the evolution of Islamic Finance / Economy will be the ultimate choice; first to individual Muslims and then it spreads to their communities and their states. Non Muslims must not fear as it can never be imposed on them.

In order for a place to contain something, it must be free from whatever contradicts it. This principle applies to mankind and all creation as well as to belief and desires. So, if the hearts is obsessed by belief in falsehood, there will be no place for truth.

Accordingly, if the tongue is involved in trivial discourse, one shall be incapable of useful speech, unless falsehood is abandoned. Hence, if the body is busy doing wrong actions, then acts of worship will be inapplicable unless these contradictory actions are abandoned.

Muslims are not judged by their names they carry, rather by their beliefs and behaviours in compliance with the Noble Quran and the authentic sunnah (statement) of Prophet Muhammed (pbuh). If a Muslim denies the Islamic Shariah, by default he/she has stepped out of the fold of Islam.

Muslims readers will not get fooled by false claims of being a Muslim. Your comment proves how little you know the message of Islam and the benefits of the Islamic Shariah and your attempt to deceive the readers is futile.

The benefits of the Islamic Shariah is very well known to the practising Muslims and it has nothing to do with your women being sent out of the country for employment; while the man stays at home and reaps the harvest of her hard earned money.

That's a fair assessment of the plight of Muslims almost all over the world. Practising Muslims do not place their trust in a man-made political system or governance. Our way of life is a model of how our Prophet (pbuh) lived in a collective society in peace with those who offer peace. Muslims will never shy away from protecting their blood, honour and property. The manhaj (methodology) of the Salaf is to adhere to the Noble Quran and the authentic Sunnah as understood by the Salaf as-Salih.

The word Salaf is a shortened version of the word 'Salaf as-Salih', which means the 'Righteous Predecessors'.

It refers specifically to the first three generations of Islam in which the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) described as being the best generations of Muslims. The first, the Prophet (pbuh) and his Sahabah (companions). The second, the Tabi'een (the followers of the companions). The third, the Taba'at-Tabi'een (the followers of the followers of the (ompanions).

Generally, this term refers to all those pious predecessors who followed the way of the Salaf and who have preceded us in time. This is the true manhaj (methodology) of Muslims.

Be a Salafi upon the path; upon the way of the Salaf as-Salih; the companions, may Allah be pleased with them and those who followed their footsteps in all aspects of the religion; from At-Tawheed, acts of worship and the likes; distinguished by adherence to the narrations of Allah’s Messenger and implementing the Sunan upon ourself while abandoning disputing, argumentation and delving deep into theological rhetoric and that which brings about sins and hinders one from the legislation. This brief introduction of a Salaf for those who have misunderstood the true meaning.

The direction the leaders are taking may please them in the short term and the effects of long term trend is the emergence of Tamils as victors and saviours of the Island nation.

Sri Lanka is slipping away from an economic recovery from the rest of the world for obvious reasons. One of the most alarming trends in politics is the lack of pretence being displayed by authority. Like a ravening beast that loses its fear of humans, government becomes more dangerous when it loses the need to pose as a public servant who performs legitimate tasks. In short, government becomes more dangerous when it doesn't care what people think of it.

The people have elected a band of organised thugs who steal wealth and lets loose radical Bhikkus on the rampage. Every 'legitimate' function the government provides such as the construction of roads or white elephant infrastructures would be to steal from the future generations. However, a government with a clean political leadership and a competent public service; is just a pipe dream.

Why blame a nation for a few sadistic individuals. Judging people on the basis of a few strays, is like eating a rotten fruit and blaming the whole tree.

The planning of The Almighty Allah is better for us than our own planning, and He could deprive us from what we ask to test our patience. So let Him see from us a determined patience and we will soon see from Him what He will give us. And when we have cleaned the paths of answering (of supplication) from the stains of sin and was patient about what He has chosen for us, then every thing that happens to us is better for us whether we were given or deprived of what we have requested.

Islam will grow and had grown exponentially during the last 14 hundred years, not because Muslims want it or they fought for it. It grew because people do find solace and peace in it. The Noble Quran is in Arabic and all translations defer. It’s very likely that you have read the interpretations from a non Islamic source. This assumption is made after reading all your comments with regard to Islam and Muslims. Faith is something that is developed within one’s own perception and nurtured in one’s heart. In reality, practising Muslims view this world as a fleeting moment in one’s life. The purpose of us devoting time and effort is to project the correct Islam as understood by our predecessors (Salaf) This does not make us Salafi. It is never our intention to convert people to our way of life as we do not possess the power. However, we are expected to strive to set an example as believing Muslim. If you ask as Arab 'Are you a Wahabi' he/she will say NO and tell you his/her tribal name. Example Tammimi, Shehhi, Berberi, It's time to stop fighting a non existent entity.

Wahabi is a tribe just as Saudi and so many other tribes in the Arabian peninsula. Muslims are not named after a tribe or a person. In essence Islam means to submit to the will of God (Allah) and those who do so sincerely are known as just 'Muslims'.

Wahabi, Sufi, Shia and some others are misnomers. In the Islamic history they were mere Schools of Thought. All these Schools of Thought had only a perspective or an interpretation according to their understanding. Long after the Death of these Scholars; the followers created their own version with their political masters. Some of these groups / people have strayed away completely from the Core Values of Islam. While some others who identify themselves by any other than Muslim, will be representing these political entities and their leaders interest, which is to control the vast amount of wealth and power in the region. Some of these leaders will tie up with the Devil to achieve the goals. The term for these Muslims who deviate are KNOWN as THE KHAWARIJS.

The basic message of Islam is the same message of all the previous prophets (peace be upon all of them) worship God alone and avoid worshipping anything besides Him, whether it is a person, place or thing, directly or indirectly. Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab made every effort to purify Islam by returning Muslims to the original principles of Islam, as exemplified by the Salaf (Companions of the Prophet (pbuh) First and Second Generation in Arabia) and rejecting what was regarded as corruptions introduced by Bid'ah (Innovation of new practices) and Shirk (Attributing Partners). Although all Muslims pray to one God, Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab was keen on emphasising that no intercession with God was possible without God's permission, which God only grants to whom He wills and only to benefit those whom He wills, certainly not the ones who invoke anything or anyone except Him, as these would never be forgiven.

Muslims have a specific purpose in Life on earth. Most of them know it and pursue to the best of their ability.

And lo! this your religion is one religion and I am your Lord, so keep your duty unto Me. Every practising Muslims knows and follows the Noble Quran and the authentic sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (pbuh) and as for Imam Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab, those who inject periodic poison to the minds of the readers by 'labeling' Muslims as Wahhabis / Tableeqis or whatever. Any group who steps out of Islam's fundamental or core values cannot be called Muslims. Sects are formed and divided along the lines of Nationalism and Political ideologies. The ignorant; just blame Wahhabi without knowing the Islamic scholar Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab's contribution to Islamic principles. Those who follow the explanations of these Islamic scholar's are 'Just Muslims'. One of the beauties of Islam is the diverse groups who follow the methodology of their chosen Imams. Every Imam / Scholar takes on a specific fundamental or core value as a theme to strive for perfection. Example the Sufi Imams on Zikr (remembrance), Tawheedi on Shirk (associating partners) Tableeqi on Dawah (preaching), All these groups may have faults, built in ignorance or some even might take it to the extremes, however who are we to judge them other than the One who created us.

The Quran was only sent down to be implemented not merely to pronounce its letters correctly while neglecting its guidelines. For this reason He said: ‘then whoever follows My guidance’. Thus that which results in happiness is following the guidance not merely memorizing the Quran. Following the guidance of the Book of Allah is a branch of understanding the Quran and pondering over it.

(This is) a Scripture that We have revealed unto thee, full of blessing, that they may ponder its revelations, and that men of understanding may reflect. (The Noble Quran 38:29)

Actually NYC is MUCH more tenant favorable than Dubai.

We may have many masters, trying to control us, affecting our behaviour; sometimes really subtly. By submitting to Allah, we become free. And we should strive to continue to submit to Him, it is an ongoing journey but we should have a clear roadmap to follow.

Allah tells us in the Noble Quran, that we have to submit, to surrender to the will of God, the one who created all of us men and women and who knows us best. That is the only way we will attain peace.

The message of Islam is perfect, however people are not. Statistics prove that Islam has grown in a short span of time. The value of Islam can be experienced by only those who follow it. My life is rich and peaceful. The proof is in the pudding.

To be honest, I would completely understand why someone might think Islam was an unattractive choice. When Islam is mentioned in the popular distorted media, it is often mentioned alongside horrible stories and without much of an explanation from a Muslim perspective. On top of that, there are some Muslims out there who are doing terrible things that are either twisted interpretations or cultural practises and have nothing to do with the religion of Islam, in fact they are things that Islam is against.

But wouldn't you agree that to judge a religion merely by looking at the actions of some of the people who claim to follow it is not really fair? I mean, surely to get a true understanding of Islam, we have got to look at what its teachings are, what the Noble Quran says about it; not just at the behaviour of some people who call themselves Muslims. And to get an unbiased understanding, we have got to approach the topic with an open mind not allowing the things we have read in the papers or seen on TV to colour our view.

Agreed ‘Belief’ and ‘Practice’ is a key factor. Practising Muslims do not compete rather they model the life of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) The numbers game is a product of rational thinking and the ultimate winner is the one who finds happiness in this life and the next.

Our actions are rewarded by our intentions. Accountability is a certainty. What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.

Only the Creator has access to the knowledge of who is a Muslim (One who submits to the will of Allah) and who is not. The final Judge. Fools display their foolishness by accusing others, while the intelligent observes the foolish with patience.

Muslims feel so incredibly grateful and blessed to have come to know him and to learn from him. A day of our life has not gone by that we haven’t felt indebted to him for the wisdom he has given us in making sense of our life and our world.

Muslims are very resourceful and resilient to settle and start over. Remember we are a nation 1.9 billion and we can take our business elsewhere. Sri Lankan Muslims homeland is the world. We are confident our faith will help us through this short life.

Citizenship is an outdated concept. A person armed with knowledge, skills and experience is in demand in every where.

Muslims will always have a special bond within themselves across borders (From North Africa to Australia). Sri Lankans should build bridges with the rest of the world rather than create more enemies.

Yes to Tamil Elam, (A separate homeland for Tamils in the North and East of Sri Lanka) which is inevitable if the government/Sinhellists (BBS/JHU/SR violates basic human rights and land grabbing. Mutual respect is not forcing an identity of any people. The freedom to choose as one pleases as long as it does not intervene the rights of others. On a recent visit to Sri Lanka we observed the Bollywood culture is thriving and how many Bhikkus have ever spoken against them nor the licensing of casinos. Is not the western attire an alien dress code? Perhaps one should revisit history and see what the early Buddhists wore.

One can be in denial the direction the Sri Lankan economy is moving, however, textbook signs are that it is speeding in the direction of disaster unless the PEOPLE say NO to the filth of Hate speeches specially by the religious people.

Islam is perfect, however people are not. There is so much Sri Lanka can learn from the Muslims and vice versa.

The world is fast becoming a global village. The geographic domain can be breached at will. Gone are the days Despots and Dictators kept a leash on their subjects. People are consciously evolving with access to education and culture at break-neck speed. As a result, a brand new world is emerging and either one adapts or dies/disintegrates. The dress code have changed and will continue to change; example take a look at what the Buddhists wore a hundred years ago or rather did not wear with today's generation. What is alienating people is pure jealousy between the haves and have nots. The jobless robed bums cannot see the sight of luxury displayed in the streets.

Sri Lankans should forget about politics and politicians and start developing their individual resources to the good of the country.

It is a fallacy to believe that the Sri Lankan Muslims are influenced with what is native to Saudi Arabia. Every practising Muslims knows and follows the Noble Quran and the authentic sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) and as for Imam Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab, those who inject periodic poison to the minds of the readers by 'labeling' Muslims as Wahabis / Tableeqis or whatever. Any group who steps out of Islam's fundamental or core values cannot be called Muslims. Sects are formed and divided along the lines of Nationalism and Political ideologies. The ignorant; just blame Wahhabi without knowing the Islamic scholar Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab's contribution to Islamic principles. Those who follow the explanations of these Islamic scholar's are 'Just Muslims'. One of the beauties of Islam is the diverse groups who follow the methodology of their chosen Imams. Every Imam / Scholar takes on a specific fundamental or core value as a theme to strive for perfection. Example the Sufi Imams on Zikr (remembrance), Tawheedi on Shirk (associating partners) Tableeqi on Dawah (preaching), All these groups may have faults, built in ignorance or some even might take it to the extremes, however who are we to judge them other than the One who created us.

All these confusions and irregularities will be sorted out at the 'Day of Reckoning' Islam is perfect however people are not.

Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab made every effort to purify Islam by returning Muslims to the original principles of Islam, as exemplified by the Salaf (Companions of the Prophet (PBUH) First and Second Generation in Arabia) and rejecting what was regarded as corruptions introduced by Bid'ah (Innovation of new practices) and Shirk (Attributing Partners). Although all Muslims pray to one God, Muhammed Ibn Abdul Wahhab was keen on emphasising that no intercession with God was possible without God's permission, which God only grants to whom He wills and only to benefit those whom He wills, certainly not the ones who invoke anything or anyone except Him, as these would never be forgiven.

We should focus on our unity, economy, productivity as one nation blessed with the diversity in culture and religion.

Why BBS does not openly object to Gambling, Alcoholism and Brothels in Sri Lanka? Does BBS believe that a person is free to worship whatever he/she pleases?
