The 'normal' person believes that, because he lives in a democracy, he has freedom of choice! Yet he hands over huge blocks of his personal power to other human beings (politicians, policemen, bureaucrats, judges etc.) and asks them to rule his life. He begs them to make laws which will control his movements; he moans and whines if someone appears to escape the law.
He wants the law tightened up, with no loopholes, and no possibility of escape.
He wants laws which prevent him from driving too fast, that restrict the films he can watch, or the magazines he can buy. He wants laws which prevent him from taking drugs if he so desires, or watching a pornographic movie if he desires, or visiting a prostitute or building a car in his back yard and driving it, or owning a boat without a license, or extending his own house. He wants tough laws restricting the investments he is allowed to make. He demands that rules are passed granting access to his bank accounts and to video him wherever he walks or drives.
He wants all these laws and more.
He gladly hands over almost all of his personal power to the lawmakers and enforcers, until he has almost none left, and he is forced to abide by society's every rule and regulation. A politician only has to chant “tuffoncrime” and he will nod energetically and sign over another personal freedom to the state.

The 'normal' person reads newspapers, watches television news and current affairs, listens to radio news broadcasts and actually believes many of the items he hears.
More importantly, he spends a significant amount of his time debating these issues with friends, and pontificating about the rights/wrongs of the particular issue in question. In this manner, his emotions are controlled by whatever news story the media decide that they will release to him that day. He holds a huge collection of opinions and views about every conceivable topic from nuclear power to abortion, and spends a significant amount of his time explaining and defending these views.
This, despite the fact that he often has almost no knowledge at all about these topics, and is merely repeating 'information bites' released by the media. Furthermore his beliefs are confused and self-contradictory; he would be absolutely unable to defend them in any rational argument.
He watches televised debates about a certain topical issue, and actually takes one side or the other! - even becoming hot under the collar when the opposition view is being expressed. In this way, his opinions and views are safely polarized into one camp or another, and firmly away from any real choices/decisions/debates.
Yet this person claims to be free!

“Human beings, We created you all from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-fearing of you. *28 Surely Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware”. *29
28 In this verse the whole of mankind bas been addressed to reform it of the great evil that has always been causing universal disruption in the world, that is, the prejudices due to race, colour, language, country, and nationality. On account of these prejudices man in every age has generally been discarding humanity and drawing around himself some small circles and regarding those born within those circles as his own people and those outside them as others. These circles have been drawn on the basis of accidental birth and not on rational and moral grounds. In some cases their basis is the accident of being born in a particular family, tribe, or race, and in some particular geographical region, or in a nation having a particular colour or speaking a particular language. Then the discrimination between one’s own people and others is not only confide to this that those who are looked upon as one’s own people are shown greater love and cooperation than others, but this discrimination has assumed the worst forms of hatred, enmity, contempt and tyranny. New philosophies have been propounded for it, new religions invented, new codes of law made and new moral principles framed; so much so that nations and empires have made this distinction a permanent way of life with them and practiced it for centuries. The Jews on this very basis regarded the children of Israel as the chosen people of God and even in the practice of their religious rites looked upon the non-Jews as inferior to the Jews in rights and rank. This very discrimination gave birth to class distinctions (varnashrama) among the Hindus according to which superiority of the Brahmins was established, all other human beings came to be regarded as inferior and unclean and the shudras cast into the depths of disgrace and degradation. Every person can see for himself even in this 20th century what atrocities have been committed against the colored people in Africa and America on account of the distinction between the white and the black. The treatment that the Europeans meted out to the Red Indian race in America and to the weak nations of Asia and Africa had the same concept underlying it. They thought that the lift and property and honor of all those who had been born outside the frontiers of their own land and nation were lawful for them and they had the right to plunder and take them as their slaves and exterminate them if need be. The worst examples of how the nationalism of the western nations has turned one nation against the others and made it their bloodthirsty enemy have been seen in the wars of the recent past and are being seen even in the present time. In this brief verse, AIlah has drawn the attention of all mankind to three cardinal truths:
(1) “The origin of alI of you is one and the same: your whole species has sprung up from one man and one woman: aII your races that arc found in the world today are, in fact, the branches of one initial race that started with one mother and one father. In this process of creation there is no basis whatever for the divisions and distinctions in which you have involved yourselves because of your false notions. One God alone is your Creator. Different men have not been created by different Gods. You have been made from one and the same substance; it is not so that some men have been made from some pure and superior substance and some other men from some impure and inferior substance. You have been created in one and the same way; it is not also so that different men have been created in different ways. And you are the offspring of the same parents; it is not so that in the beginning there were many human couples which gave birth to different populations in the different regions of the world.’
(2) “In spite of being one in origin it was natural that you should be divided into nations and tribes. Obviously,. alI the mcn on the earth could not belong to one and the same family. With the spread of the race it was inevitable that countless families should arise, and then tribes and nations should emerge from the families. Similarly, it was inevitable that after settling in different regions of the earth, there should be differences of colors, features, languages and ways of living among the people, and it was also natural that those living in the same region should be closer in affinity and those living in remote regions not so close; but this natural difference never demanded that distinctions of inequality, of high and low, of noble and mean, should be established on its basis, that one race should claim superiority over the other, the people of one color should look down upon the people of other colors, and that one nation should take preference over the ocher without any reason. The Creator had divided the human communities into nations and tribes for that was a natural way of cooperation and distinction between them. In this way alone could a fatuity, a brotherhood, a tribe and a nation combine to give birth to a common way of life and to cooperate with each other in the affairs of the world. But it was all due to satanic ignorance that the differences among mankind created by Allah to be a means of recognition, were trade a means of mutual boasting and hatred, which led mankind to every kind of injustice and tyranny.
(3) The only basis of superiority and excellence that there is, or can be, between man and man is that of moral excellence. As regards birth, aII men arc equal, for their Creator is One, their substance of creation is one, and their way of creation is one, and they are descended from the same parents. Moreover, a person’s being born in a particular country, nation, or clan is just accidental. Therefore, there is no rational ground on account of which one person may be regarded as superior to the other. The real thing that makes one person superior to others is that one should be more God-conscious, a greater avoider of evils, and a follower of the way of piety and righteousness. Such a man. whether he belongs to any race, any nation and any country, is valuable and worthy on account of his personal merit. And the one who is reverse of him in character is in any case an inferior person whether he is black or white, born in the east or the west.
These same truths that have been stated in this beef verse of the Qur’an, have been explained in greater detail by the Holy Prophet in his addresses and traditions. In the speech that he made on the conquest of Makkah, after going round the Ka’bah, he said: ‘Thank God Who has removed from you the blemish of ignorance and its arrogance. O people, men are divided into classes: the pious and righteous, who arc honorable in the sight of Allah, and the sinful and vicious, who arc contemptible in the sight of AIlah, whereas aII men are the children of Adam and Adam had been created by Allah from clay.” (Baihaqi, Tirmidhi).
On the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, in the midst of the Tashriq days, he addressed the people, and said: ‘O people, be aware: your God is One. No Arab has any superiority over a non-Arab, and no non-Arab any superiority over an Arab, and no white one has any superiority over a black one, and no black one any superiority over a white one, except on the basis of taqva (piety). The most honorable among you in the sight, of Allah is he who is the most pious and righteous of you. Say if I have conveyed the Message to you?” And the great congregation of the people responded, saying: Yes, you have, O Messenger of Allah.” Thereupon the Holy Prophet said: “Then Iet the one who is present convey it to those who are absent,” ( Baihaqi)
In a Hadith he has said: “You are all the children of Adam, and Adam was created from the dust. Let the people give’up boasting of their ancestors, otherwise they will stand more degraded than a mean insect in the sight of Allah.” ( Bazzar)
In another Hadith the Holy Prophet said: “Allah will not enquire about your lineage on the Day of Resurrection. The most honourable in the sight of AIIah is he who is most pious. “(Ibn Jarir)
In still another Hadith he said: “Allah dces not see your outward appearances and your possessions ,but He sees your hearts and your deeds.” (Muslim, lbn Majah).
These teachings have not remained confined to words only but Islam has practically established a universal brotherhood of the believers on the basis, which does not allow any distinction on account of color, race, language, country and nationality which is free from every concept of high and low, clean and unclean, mean and respectable, which admits all human beings with equal rights, whether they belong to any race and nation, any land or region. Even the opponents of Islam have had to admit that no precedent is found in any religion and any system of the success with which the principle of human equality and unity has been given practical shape in the Muslim society, nor has it ever been found. Islam is the only religion which has welded and combined innumerable races and communities scattered in all corners of the earth into one universal Ummah.
In this connection, a misunderstanding also needs to be removed. In the case of marriage, the importance that Islamic law gives to kufv (likeness of status) has been taken by some people in the sense that some brotherhoods are noble and some mean, and matrimonial relations between them are objectionable. But this, in fact, is a wrong idea. According to the Islamic law, every Muslim man can marry every Muslim woman, but the success of the matrimonial life depends on maximum harmony and conformity between the spouses as regards habits, characteristics and ways of life, family traditions and economic and social status, so that they may get on well with each other. This is the real object of being equal and alike. Where there is unusual difference and disparity between the man and the woman in this regard, lifelong companionship will be difficult. That is why the Islamic law disapproves of such intermarriages, and not for the reason that one of the spouses is noble and the other mean, but for the reason that in case there is a clear and apparent difference and distention in status, there would be a greater possibility of the failure of the matrimonial life if the marriage relationship was establ ished.
*29 That is, “This is only known to Allah as to who is really a ntan of high rank and who is inferior in respect of qualities and characteristics. The standards of high and low that the people have set up of their own accord, are not acceptable to and approved by AIIah. Maybe that the one who has been regarded as a man of high rank in the world is declared as the lowest of the low in the final judgment of AIIah, and maybe that the one who has been looked upon as a very low person here, attains to a very high rank there. The real importance is not of the honor and dishonor of the world but of the honor and dishonor that one will receive from Allah. Therefore, what man should. be most concerned about is that he should create in himself those real qualities and characteristics which make him worthy of honour in the sight of AIlah.

Most of us know the stories of how subliminal advertising started back in 1957. We must also know the first products that used subliminals in their advertising also became the biggest names in their industries.

Most Muslims apart from the Labels attached believe in their Islamic creed (Akeedah). One of the beauties of Islam is the diverse views of the Islamic scholars as long as they keep to the core values of the Noble Quran and the Authentic Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (PBUH).
The answer to Hijab lies in one of the verses in the Quran pertaining to this topic is found in Chapter 33, verse 59, where believing women are instructed to cover: ‘O Prophet! Tell thy wives and thy daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks close round them (when they go abroad). That will be better, so that they may be recognised and not annoyed. Allah is ever Forgiving, Merciful. (The Noble Quran 33:59)’

Convince Conscious Mind for Subconscious to Work
There are two conditions that need to be present for subconscious change to be sustainable. The first condition is that the subconscious impression must be continually induced in order to maintain its strength over the mind. When both of these conditions are present, the subconscious mind will be able to continue creating the thing it is programmed with.

Intelligence is a thing unto itself that can be attained, although any one person is able to embody it in varying degrees and amounts. Just because someone else possesses more intelligence than you in certain things, does not mean you have to feel stupider than them in order to learn from them. The super smart do not have such ego or any such nonsense thoughts that get in their way of learning. They are just too smart for it. The super smart would even go as far as to pretend not to be smart in order to sneakily acquire information from whatever sources that are dispensing it. The height of cleverness is to be able to conceal it. Of course, the other polarity of truth is that one must have a certain level of strong identity of being smarter than others, especially when stupider people are trying to be smart in front of us and stupifying us with their nonsense. One must be able to drop shields when encountering something truly smart to learn from. But of course that might be tricky at times because it takes intelligence to perceive intelligence. Sometimes, we are unable to learn or accept a particular kind of philosophy that seems lower until we rise further and our thinking becomes more complete in order to see and learn the wisdom of the initially unacceptable philosophy or way of thinking. One who is super intelligent is able to not only access the level and progress of intelligence of others but also with themselves. They are able to know where they are, where they came from and where they are going to. The scale and range of intelligence can be traversed upwards to greater intelligence, and downwards to understanding the nature of stupidity and insanity, and sideways to become more intelligent in different functional subjects of life and society. The main thing is that it is all fun. Postulates are the second highest state.
The things that smart enlightened people do are for the purpose of trying to make others smarter. Because the smarter people are around them, the better their reality would be. Heaven is a place where super intelligent beings reside and there is greater harmony. A genius who rules in a world full of idiots is still in hell anyway although he is making the most out of it. One who only sticks to the ideal would not want to own, dominate or control others. But one who realizes that this is not the world of the ideal, would go forth and do so. One who isn’t aware of the ideal would go all out in owning, dominating and controlling others to the extreme and thereby causing an imbalance. It is best to use control and domination as well as enlightening and raising people’s consciousness in appropriate degrees. Only teach the right ones and control the rest. The only use for fools is to use them as tools, nothing more. Fools despise wisdom and wisdom is too high for a fool. Since the majority of people in the world are fools, you can see the bulk of what you can gain is from making use of fools rather than from teaching people to become smarter. This can be applied to money and male-female interaction. This is why those half-wise ones who limit themselves to the ideal are limited in what they can gain, whereas those that do both sides have no limits in what they can achieve.

Lack of proper legislation and implementation of the existing laws are one of the major cause the Sri Lankan ladies; specially in the Middle East are facing pathetic conditions. The Sri Lankan diplomatic missions in these countries should have a special section to wet prospective sponsors and formulate a binding contract of both parties before a domestic worker departs. These native sponsors could easily afford a USD 1000 service fee for approval plus the cost of return air passage as bond. The airport authorities should be responsible for screening all domestic workers leaving the country with proper authorised clearance from the diplomatic missions of the host country. The foreign exchange Sri Lanka earns from this source is a massive revenue. A percentage should be allocated to the welfare of all domestic workers. Rather than the Foreign Bureau of Employment taxing every domestic worker which is an unfair practice. The cost to secure foreign employment by the applicant is beyond their capacity to finance and as a result they are forced to pawn their belonging to loan sharks and thus create a situation beyond their means. The GoSL should take this case to an International Court of law and highlight the Injustice system of Saudi Arabia for failing to follow proper Judicial due process. As a moderate, I will always remain a moderate no matter what and will 'Love Lanka' and defend it's territorial integrity with the Mighty Pen and Moral Persuasion.
Quite frankly these blasphemous comment has no effect on us; minorities. We are immuned to these slurs. It takes a few hundred people to construct a building and it only takes just one person to destroy it. Our concerns should be those with these concepts being voted through a Democratic process to govern Sri Lanka. The minority communities all over the world do not have major problems with the majority populations. But with a very small percentage (less than 0.1%) who have managed to grab power and incite disunity among peace loving communities who a have lived peacefully for centuries. I am not an expert in Thai politics to comment or would like to spend time to research further. What we know through experience and human nature is that people will always reject extreme oppression and dominance. This is Universal behaviour. Patience has its Limits.
Some of us have lost all faith with the Media in general, as ground realities are never reported by the main stream Media. Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.
O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.
O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.
Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.
O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.
All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people”
Thus the beloved Prophet completed his Final Sermon, and upon it, near the summit of Arafat, the revelation came down:
“…This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My Grace upon you, and have chosen Islam for you as your religion…” (Quran 5:3)

Family Financial Planning is a great way to achieve maximum benefits on ones earnings. Family financial Debt is on the rise through easy credit. Rather than restricting the size of the family, the approach should be towards an affordable number of children within ones means to provide the quality of life. Unfortunately, most families in Sri Lanka cannot afford to comply with this criteria. There is no known cure for laziness and no relation to ones Gene. Laziness is a self inflicted disease.
Genetically Modified food is not natural and thus could cause harm to ones health in the long term. Research is still inconclusive. Organic cultivation is do-able and cost effective in the long term as this cuts down on Medical Bills. A healthy lifestyle is very cost effective.
Religion/Philosophy is a way of life we all choose to live our lives and we should tolerate each others methodology. One must have the freedom to worship whatever one pleases. Fran Diaz - The regional Bullies have an upper hand on the control of Sri Lanka's Governance. THIS IS A FACT. The weak is overpowered by the strong. I reckon, in reality GOSL had to give into the Bullies song and dance (eg. 13A) so they turned a blind eye to overcome the Tigers. These Bullies voted against us at the UN to keep the pressure on. The Citizens know very little what goes on behind the scene. Have to recognise ground realities and work towards a solution. This requires a complete, peaceful overhaul of Leadership at the highest level. Politics now; is a commercial venture. An investment return of 10 times or more. Unbelievable corruption by those in Power. Their overseas assets will one day be confiscated just like Gaddafi's God Willing. Personally, MR is a good man, (people around him is another story) loves his country. Looks like his hands are tied up to take matters further. His time in power is almost up. Credit is where Credit is due. The solution is to strengthen the social fabric; followed by the economy and thus restore our sovereignty with patience and prudence. Fran Diaz - The ingredients for peaceful co-existence is RESPECT to each others opinions and beliefs which we all hold sacred. Wealth may not always be the root of all evils, however it could be a blessing if they are directed towards progress and development of Humanity. @Leela - God created Human beings with a Free Will and send down scriptures to nations and tribes from time to time, giving them specific instructions how to live life on earth. Some Humans respect this Free Will while others try to impose it by force. The Noble Quran's position is as follow:-

In response to your statement above - I was compelled to think of ‘idol demolition Muslim mindset’ because there are very many Koran verses and numerous Hadith to promote vanquishing of Al Fitnah (disbelief).
The separation of Muslim mindset from the Message of Islam is vital. People's mindset can differ from time to time, however the the message in the Noble Quran is for all ages. Let me site an example, 50 years ago Homosexuality was a disease, today it is a lifestyle. I have no problem with peoples freedom of life choices. Another incorrect word Al Fitnah (disbelief). Like I wrote before the Arabic language in highly complexed. The sweetness of the Arabic language can be experienced only by learning it from the Islamic scholars.
Of course, Idol worship was rampant and mind you. it was and it is a thriving business venture to this day. Plus the complementary offerings to the Idols/Statues and those people who benefited behind the scene. This was big business in Arabia. One has to read the pre-Islamic era and one will not find it any different with those people who pray to Idols and Statues today. NO OFFENSE AS BUDDHISTS DO NOT PRAY TO LORD BUDDHA OR HIS STATUES. The Arabs at that time led a miserable life. Even to this day who do not put into practice the Message of Islam as it was prescribed to Mankind.
The Prophet's (PBUH) never compromised at any time in his life with the revelations from Allah, even though his own tribe offered him money, wealth and power, which he rejected it. He lived a simple life until his death.
The Noble Quran's purity is protected by the one who revealed it to him. This fact has been confirmed by various researches conducted in the past by credible people, Muslims and Non Muslims and more researches are done to this day.

Patrick Metzdorf - As much as I admire and agree with RP, he is not going to get the Rep nomination, let alone be elected POTUS. And that's for that very reason that I've mentioned: People tend to drag out the status quo. His ideas appear to be too off mainstream, even if they do tend to agree with him. When it comes to voting, people switch their head off and go for things like "electability" (self-realizing prophecy much?). On large important matters such as national elections, people shy away from drastic change - not because they don't want it, but because they are afraid everyone else will stay in the mainstream and they'd waste their own little vote to do anything else.
Look at Iowa: Paul led in polls immediately prior to losing massively to the two idiots who tied first place.
That shows that people may like and agree with Paul, but standing in the booth they resign themselves to go for what seems to be the safer bets. And that's just one symptom.
Change takes so long because people can't get the balls together to go for it.
